WOODINVILLE, WA – Jinyoung Lee Englund, her team, and supporters raised a record setting $225,000 for the State Senate Special Election in the 45th legislative district in her first 19 days. In contrast, one of her opponents raised only $94,000 in her first 30 days.

“I’m humbled and energized by the support of Washingtonians across our home state,” said Englund. “This may only be a state senate seat, but it is an election that impacts all Washingtonians and I’m finding that we are unified on improving traffic congestion and prioritizing education so that it is fully funded -- without a new state income tax.”

Washington is one of seven states in America that does not impose a state income tax, making it a more competitive state for jobs and contributes to a higher quality of life for families.

In addition to her success in fundraising, Englund has also personally visited nearly 1,000 homes in her first 19 days.

“It’s important to me to hear from people directly what I can do as a state senator to protect and improve our quality of life,” said Englund. She continued, “The late Senator Andy Hill was a bipartisan leader with a laser sharp focus on local issues and solutions. This is the kind of person I am and the style of leadership I will continue for our community.”
