Car Tab Fees Are Too High
This year, car tabs have doubled, tripled, and even quadrupled for some families here on the Eastside. And people are angry.
It’s a bad deal for the Eastside -- not only because the cost is based on the MSRP price of vehicles, but also because this $54 billion transit system is decades away from completion and unlikely to finish on time or on budget. We are unfairly shouldering the costly toll lanes that bottleneck traffic on I-405.
Buses are being re-routed to be less efficient and our own roads are not receiving the attention or funds they deserve to keep up with our population explosion.
We are not Seattle. We need our cars to get from home to work to school and live our lives. This war on cars needs to stop and we need to refocus our energy and funding to real, pragmatic transportation solutions.
